Betty Jane Dunstan, beloved Mother and Grandmother, passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 97. She was born on November 24, 1928, in Elgin, Illinois, to Henry and Ella Botterman. She lived in Illinois until she moved to Florida.

Betty devoted her life to her family and her faith, raising her three children with love and patience. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. She loved laughing with her friends and eating at her favorite restaurant Nouvelle Cuisine, playing golf, gardening and weeding, there wasn’t a weed that escaped her notice. She also loved her sweets; her refrigerator was always filled with chocolate candy. Betty is survived by her son, James Woodward and three grandchildren, Michael Townley, Anna McCoy and Steven Hancock, four great-grandchildren, brother David Botterman, and stepsons Jesse and Fred Dunstan. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jesse Dunstan, and two daughters, Barbara Woodward and Janet Hancock.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The service will also be live-streamed at clcfla.org. The family invites friends to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.
