Carole Sue Newman Gillilan

Carole Sue Newman Gillilan, age 78, passed away surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, Grammy, sister, and friend, Carole lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her fiesty spirit, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved most. 

She was the beloved wife of 48 years to Roger Gillilan, her steadfast partner through life's many journeys. Together they built a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. 

Carole was the proud, loving mother of Steven Mullins, Trayce Mullins, Natalie Halbert-Guido, Wayne Guido, Angie Hummel, Jeff Hummel, Gina Gillilan, Amanda Medina, and Will Medina. She was affectionately known as Grammy to her grandchildren: Ashley Hudson, Nathan Gillilan, Erika Gillilan, Zak Wilson, Camille Wilson, Isabella Wilson, Kobe Chester, Shasta Chester, Faith Hummel, Jazmine Medina, Ruby Medina Rivera, and to her ten great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. 

She was a dear sister to Virginia Hurrel and Walter Newman, and was preceded in death by her sister Judy Fisher. 

She had a passion for traveling with Roger and her beloved Doxies in their RV, finding beauty in the journey. At home, she found joy lovingly feeding and naming the sea birds that came to visit - especially a heron she affectionately called Mama. 

Carole will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and be remembered as a great wife, mother, Grammy, sister, and friend - loving, caring, stubborn, and feisty in all the best ways. Celebration of life details will be communicated at a later date.
