Charles Ervine Allen was born in Hazard, Kentucky on March 4, 1955. He passed away on February 26, 2026, in Brooksville, Florida, where he had made his home and raised a family since the early 1980s.
Charles spent much of his childhood in Hazard before his family later relocated to Louisville, Kentucky. In his youth he played football. Later he attended the University of Kentucky and earned a degree in Mining Engineering and Biology. Charles went on to build a successful career in the cement industry. He was an adept handyman and carpenter, and in his later years he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and cooking. He was known as a supportive friend, a neighbor always willing to lend a hand, and for spoiling his two grand dogs.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter and son, daughter-in-law, two sisters and one brother, and many family and friends. Charles will be profoundly missed, and the lessons he imparted and memories he helped create will continue to resonate through the lives of those he touched.
