Charles James McBride

Charles James McBride, lovingly known as "Chuck" to family and friends, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, after an extended illness. Born on October 31, 1956, in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, Chuck lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.

Chuck was the beloved son of Don L McBride and Mary Olive McBride, both of whom preceded him. Growing up in a household filled with warmth, Chuck carried those values throughout his life, deeply impacting everyone he met. He is survived by his devoted children: Michelle Meals (Chris), Charles McBride (Jacque), Tiffany McBride, Tyler McBride, and Timothy Brant. His legacy also lives on through his cherished siblings, Glenn McBride, Joann Brant, and David McBride, and his adored 11 grandchildren: Christopher, Domonic, Zander, Xane, Isaiha, Delilah, Nicolas, Kiara, Jamier, Ariana, and Riley.

A proud alumnus of Stow High School, Chuck graduated in 1975, setting the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and commitment. Answering the call to serve his country, he joined the US Navy, where he cultivated a sense of discipline and camaraderie that remained with him forever.

Chuck's career as a carpenter was more than just an occupation; it was a testament to his skill, precision, and dedication. His craftsmanship was admired by many, and he took great pride in his work, often saying that the secret to a well-built life was a mixture of strength and creativity.

His love for woodworking and golfing brought him joy, but nothing compared to the happiness he found in spending time with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment shared with them. An ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chuck enjoyed many Sundays cheering for his team, surrounded by loved ones.

Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Chuck had an uncanny ability to bring laughter to any room. He possessed an innate gift for storytelling and was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Chuck's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Chuck's memory to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of kindness and generosity.

Chuck McBride's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and laughter. His spirit will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who were blessed to share in his remarkable journey.
