David Vinarao, born October 10, 1977, passed away on January 1, 2026. David was a remarkable man whose life was defined by service, love, and unwavering devotion to his family.

David proudly served 22 years in the United States Navy, dedicating his life to his country with honor, strength, and integrity. His service reflected his character—steadfast, loyal, and selfless. Beyond his military career, David was known for his generous heart, warm spirit, and ability to bring people together.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sue Vinarao, with whom he shared 12 years of marriage. David was a proud and loving father to Naami Vinarao (28), Dj Vinarao (24), Jaden Brown (23), and Dillion Vinarao (16). His children were his greatest pride, and family was always at the center of his world.

David is survived by his mother, Joyligaya Marcelo Rafael; his brothers Alvin Vinarao (wife Jennifer Vinarao, children Alexa Vinarao and Jalen Vinarao) and Ronald Vinarao (wife Luz Vinarao, daughter Amy Vinarao); his sister Michelle Craft; and his brother John Chanthachoumpha (children Cheyane, Austin, and Brooklynn Chanthachoumpha, and great-niece Komeha’e).

He is also survived by his extended family, including brothers- and sisters-in-law: Ali Nammontry, Kitty Nammontry (children Willie and Katy Nammontry), Michael Nammontry, Rose Mendeloa (children Destinie, Kiana, and Darrien Mendeloa), Moni Iulianelli, and Rick Iulianelli (children Anthony Bowers, Sean Bowers, and Aylena Bowers), Loun Nammontry, and Tony Nammontry (daughter Mia Nammontry).

David is further survived by his father-in-law, Steven Nammontry, and mother-in-law, Dokkab Nammontry.

He was also a loving pet parent to Choco Vinarao and Daisy Vinarao, who brought him great joy.

David was an avid fisherman who found peace on the water and joy in the simple moments. He loved spending time at the Hard Rock and, above all else, cherished time spent with his family. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David Vinarao leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and family—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Closing Poem

Do not cry for me when you see the tide,

I am there in the water, calm and wide.

Where rivers meet the endless sea,

That quiet place is where you’ll find me.

I am the ripple, the steady flow,

The peaceful current you already know.

When waves return upon the shore,

Know I am near—forevermore.

Do not cry for me, I am not gone,

I sail in the light of each new dawn.

In every cast, in every tide,

I walk beside you, your constant guide.

So smile when the waters touch your feet,

For that is where our hearts still meet.
