Douglas Hearl

Douglas Hearl, age 80, of Brooksville, FL, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Doug was born in Hemphill, West Virginia, to Fred and Margie Hearl on January 10, 1946.

He worked as an assistant manager of Colonial Lanes in Waterbury, Connecticut, for many years, and for 4 years at Mariner Lanes in Spring Hill, Florida. He later retired after working 17 years for the U.S. Postal Service in Spring Hill, Florida. A true landscaping enthusiast, he took great pride in working in his yard. He was an avid bowler for over 50 years, attending several state and national tournaments. He was also a voracious reader who enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word jumbles, and word games, and he was a diehard fan of both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Dallas Cowboys.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Anita; sons, Michael (Lenore) and James (Melissa); 5 grandchildren, Nick, Jacob, Caitlin, Tyler, and Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

Doug is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Quincy and Gail. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, 3369 Mariner Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34609, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel in Spring Hill, FL. Interment will follow at The Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville, FL.
