Fr. Magar Bedrosian

February 28, 1927 — January 18, 2017

Bedrosian, Rev. Magar, “Mike/Fr. B.” 89, of Spring Hill, FL, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends on January 18, 2017. Son of Taniel and Nevart Bedrosian, he is predeceased by his wife, Sarah (Roode) Bedrosian, his former wife, Irene (Markarian) Bedrosian and sister, Serphony (Bedrosian) Kalunian. He is survived by his brothers Mikael, Samuel, Karakian and Peter; children, Annette and Judith Bedrosian, Michael, Susan, Melanie, Matthew, Mark and Samuel Lawless; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Born in Milford, MA on February 28, 1927, Magar served honorably in the United States Navy. He graduated from The University of Massachusetts in 1955 and received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree from Berkley Divinity School in New Haven, CT in 1958. Magar served as the Rector at Trinity Church North Scituate, RI; St. Elizabeth’s Canonchet, RI; St Thomas Alton, RI and Christ Church West Haven, CT. He retired in 1994 to Spring Hill, FL and was an Associate Priest (retired) at St. Andrew’s and St. John’s. Magar enjoyed cooking, especially for his family and friends. He was an avid golfer for over 50 years having twice achieved a “Hole in One.” He loved to travel and visited China and many European countries. Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2301 Deltona Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34606 on January 22, 2017, 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Church.
