Gerald E Wirth

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald E. Wirth, 83, who peacefully departed this world at 4:11am on March 27, 2026.

Gerald was a devoted husband, father and friend who lived a life full of service and love. Born on July 3, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, he made a lasting impact in  both his personal and professional life. He had a rich career, working at Emery Air Freight Delivery, driving a school buss for Hernando County, and serving as the Maintenance Supervisor for Hernando County Schools. He also drove for a limousine service to Tampa International Airport, showcasing his dedication to his work and his community.

Gerald had a lighthearted spirit, always ready with a joke of a story to make those around him smile. He found joy in the simple things, like talking with his family and friends, watching TV and caring for his beloved dogs, Gio and Buddy. He also loved spending time on his ride-on mower, tending to his yard, and embracing the peacefulness of his surroundings.

Most of all, Gerald's greatest joy was his nearly 40-year marriage to his wife, whose love and support were  constant throughout their journey together. Their bond was a true testament to the depth of his heart and the devotion he held for his family.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren a a wide circle of family and friends who will miss him dearly. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his genuine kindness, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Gerald will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who were touched by his kindness. 

A memorial service is being planned and will be held at a later day.
