Hobert Messer

Hobert Messer, 79, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Spring Hill, Florida. Born on April 18, 1946, in Corbin, Kentucky, Hobert lived a life defined by hard work, deep love for his family, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone who knew him.

A gifted auto mechanic by trade, Hobert had an uncanny ability to breathe new life into any vehicle. Whether it was making a car run like new or restoring its shine to near perfection, his hands worked with skill and dedication. His career was not just a job—it was a reflection of his commitment to doing things right and helping others along the way.

Hobert’s heart belonged first and foremost to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathey Messer, whose hand he held through life’s many seasons. Together they built a home filled with laughter, love, and the kind of warmth that only comes from years of shared memories.

He leaves behind two daughters: Angela Jarrett and her husband James, along with their daughter Hannah Jarrett; and Kellie Insalaco and her husband Rob, with their three children—Matthew Berry, Emma Berry, and Dominick Insalaco. Hobert cherished each of them deeply and took great pride in watching his family grow.

He is also remembered by his siblings: sisters Marie Rose, Pauline Wells (Willard), and Ima Chamness; and brother Jack Messer (Anita). Their bond remained strong throughout the years. Hobert was preceded in death by his parents Caleb and Josie Messer; sister Rita Bozza; and brothers Wayne Messer, Roy Messer, James Messer, and Ray Messer (Cecil).

A man of Baptist faith, Hobert lived out his beliefs through kindness and generosity. He was known for doing anything for anyone—never hesitating to lend a hand or offer support when it was needed most. His sense of humor was legendary among those close to him; he loved playing pranks just to hear the sound of laughter echoing around him.

Despite his talents and accomplishments, Hobert found joy in life’s simplest pleasures: holding Kathey’s hand during quiet moments, sharing hugs with loved ones, savoring a good hamburger paired with an ice-cold soda or beer. And he never gave up hope of winning the lottery again—a dream that brought him endless amusement. If you know, you know.
