James J. Pennock, Sr. (Jim), a man of tremendous heart and grit, passed away leaving a legacy of devotion and adventure. While visiting his vacation home in Florida, his health took a turn no one was expecting. Jim’s greatest pride was his family, and he spent his life ensuring they knew they were both loved and protected. As a dedicated long-haul truck driver, he sacrificed countless hours on the open road to provide for his loved ones, always keeping his wife, Vicki Pennock (Deline), as his North Star. Jim was a very loving and devoted husband; his commitment to Vicki was the backbone of their family, and his hard work was a testament to the life they built together. Whether he was behind the wheel of his rig or making memories with his children and grandchildren, Jim’s presence was a constant source of strength and security.
When he wasn’t providing for his family, Jim lived life at full throttle. He was an outdoorsman and a competitor at heart, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and the thrill of mud bogging. His "try anything" attitude meant he was always ready for a race—whether in a car, on foot, in a boat, or even a video game, Jim played to win. Preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Reba (Hall) Pennock and son-in-law, Michael Nummer I (August 14, 1993). He will be deeply missed by his wife, Vicki; sister, Sandra Manely; brother Ronald Pennock Sr; his children, April Nummer (Pennock), James Pennock Jr., Melanie Pennock, Brandon and Alicia(Chang-Mauricio) Pennock; his grandchildren, Michael Nummer Il, Justin and Andrea (VanPortleit) Nummer, Rebecka Pennock, Nicholas Pennock, Owen Pennock, Lucas and Mia Maurico; one great-grandchild, Mason Pennock; and a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jim navigated life’s twists and turns with his foot on the gas and his heart on his sleeve, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories and a family that will forever carry his strength forward.
A memorial service will be announced and held at a later time, as the family arranges for Jim to travel home from Florida."
