John Ponce-Velez Sr. John Steven Ponce-Velez Sr., 32, of Spring Hill/Brooksville, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. John was born on May 19, 1989. In his teens & early twenties, he served as a chef. In his late twenties, he served as a USPS city carrier in Bronx, New York for 5 years. In the months before his passing, he was an avid employee for Rivera's Flooring, Kitchens & More in Brooksville, Florida. John had a big heart. He always showed his love for others, and was there for anyone in need. The kitchen was always his happy place, but he also had a huge love for gaming as well. He was passionate about handball and teaching his son different sports, while giving him life lessons. He loved his family unconditionally. John was preceded in death by Maria Rodriguez (Great Grandmother), Nydia Mirta Garcia (Grandmother), George Fulmore (Grandfather in Law), and a host of uncles and aunts. He is survived by his wife of 8 years; Danielle Ponce-Velez, Son; John Ponce-Velez Junior, Sister in Law/ adopted daughter; D’Naisha Thomas, Mother; Darlene Velez, Grandfather; Angel Velez, Grandmother in law; Rachel Fulmore, Mother in Law; Priscilla Baskerville. Uncles/Tios, David Baez (Carmen Rivera), and Kenneth Velez (Blanca Velez). Aunts/Titis, Abigail Baez (Wilfredo Rodriguez), Ida Luz Velez. Brothers; David Ortiz, Efrain Ponce-Hamlet (Vaugh Hamlet), and Efren Ponce. Sisters; Kayleen Ortiz (Adalberto Palacio), Rosaicela Prince (Lorenzo Prince), and Jessica Ortiz. And a host of Brother and Sister in laws. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Godsons; Seth Halye, Joseph & Grayson Petrosky, and Niklaus Cobb.
