In Loving Memory of Joseph Ercole Delli CarpiniMarch 19, 1945 – May 28, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Ercole Delli Carpini, a devoted husband, loving father, master craftsman, and dear friend, who passed away unexpectedly at his home in Spring Hill, Florida, on May 28, 2025.
Born in the mountain village of Gallo Matese, Italy, to Dominic and Angela Delli Carpini, who predeceased him, Joseph (Giuseppe) carried the strength and warmth of his heritage throughout his life. His family later moved to Venezuela, where he graduated from Valencia Technical School with a diploma in Welding and Machinist Technologies.
As a young man, Joseph saw the need for helping his family, his father, mother and siblings, so he started working to supplement income for food and other family necessities.
In Venezuela, he met and married the love of his life, Isa Herminia Pinedo, and eventually owned his own machine shop—an early testament to his skill and drive. He also held a supervisory role at Quaker Oats, where his leadership and craftsmanship began to shine.
Joseph often shared his knowledge with his brothers-in-law and many others, generously offering to teach them welding and machining—hoping to give them tools for a brighter future.
In the 1970s, Joseph and Isa immigrated to the United States, settling in Cincinnati, Ohio, where some of the family had already laid roots. There, Joseph fathered his son, Joseph Leonard Delli Carpini. He always thanked God.
Despite not speaking English initially, Joseph quickly earned admiration for his extraordinary talent and tireless work ethic. He held various respected positions and eventually retired from PBG: Pepsi Bottling Group. His reputation was so strong that former employers would travel long distances in hopes of bringing him back. Among his most treasured projects was the custom wine press he built for his father—a gift of love and legacy.. though, there are too many to list here.
At home, Joseph’s greatest joy was his family. He loved hosting cookouts, filling his home with music, laughter, and the comforting aroma of meals lovingly prepared by his wife, and himself for cookouts. He found joy in simple things—Tampa Bay sports, Westerns, Threes Company, Cannonball Run Movies, IL Volo, Elvis, quiet games of Solitaire, and tinkering around the house to name a few.
He leaves behind a legacy not just of craftsmanship, but of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He helped many neighbors and friends fix many household problems - if any one could fix them - Joe could!
When family members would ask him for fund assistance, he was willing to give it. He was also quick to offer to pay for meals at restaurants at outings like his son's graduation because he wanted to for his son and friends.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Isa Herminia Delli Carpini, his son, Joseph Leonard Delli Carpini, and his siblings, Antonia Delli Carpini DiPaolo, Tony Delli Carpini, Rosa Delli Carpini (predeceased), and Giovanna Delli Carpini Trimpe. He is also remembered by many extended family members and close friends whose lives he enriched and deeply touched.
Though he is gone from our sight, he will remain in our hearts.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with the service beginning at 2:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, 3369 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34609. All who knew and loved Joseph are invited to come celebrate his life.
“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and confirmed and one which enters within the veil, where a forerunner has entered for us—Jesus, having become a high priest forever...”— Hebrews 6:19–20, LSB
To God be all the glory through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
