Joseph Peter Solecki

Joseph “Joe” Solecki, 76, of Spring Hill, FL passed away of a sudden illness on October 25, 2026.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Valentines Day 1950. He was the beloved son of Thaddeus Solecki and Ella St.Leger Solecki.

Joe worked at SEPTA for thirty years and took great pride in his job as a Philadelphia bus driver. He retired in 2004 and moved to Florida. Throughout his life he was known for his humor, generosity, and kind demeanor. Above all, family and friends were the center of his life.

Joe has been married to his beloved wife, Colleen for over 55 years. They shared a loving marriage filled with laughter, fun, and joy. They had three beautiful children; Angela, Jason, and Rene. Joe loved his family with all of his heart. He especially loved being a pop-pop to his four grandchildren. One line that was often said in the family was, “pop-pop pays”. He loved it and would laugh anytime one of his grandchildren said it.

Joe's passion since he was a teenager was Golf. He loved to play Golf, and he moved to Florida so he could play golf all year. One of his top accomplishments in his life was getting a hole in one, three separate times. He also enjoyed watching “dem bums,” the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a longtime fan of both teams.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen, his children, Jason Solecki and his wife Michelle, and Rene Sacco and her partner Fred Grumbine. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kaytlind Gray and her husband Josh, Juliet Solecki, Sydney Sacco, and Jack Sacco.

Joe was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brothers, Richard Solecki and Raymond Solecki, and his daughter Angela Solecki.
