Joseph Zocco

Joseph Zocco of Spring Hill , Florida, formerly of Tolland, Connecticut, passed away on April 24, 2021 at the age of 81. Joe leaves behind the love of his life, his wife for 37 years, Kathy (Hastillo), his daughter Corina and husband John, his son Eric and wife Nancy and four grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, Lauren and Evan. He also leaves behind his brother Charles Zocco. Joe was born in Canicattini, Province of Siracusa, Italy and migrated to the United States when he was 12 years old. After graduating from Trinity College in Hartford, Joe held a variety of positions in insurance in Connecticut and California which included underwriting, sales, brokerage and ultimately as an insurance consultant for a major Los Angeles oil company. An avid sportsman, Joe enjoyed playing soccer, tennis and ping pong. He also enjoyed doing volunteer work including tutoring math, teaching English to immigrants and helping low-income people file their income taxes. As a young man, Joe was proud to have been awarded the "Young Herald of the Pope" medal by Pope Pius XII. Services will be private and no memorial events are currently scheduled.
