Joyce Felicia Dixon Lavalas

Joyce Felicia Dixon Lavalas, age 82 passed on August 6th, 2025, at Evergreen Woods Home and Rehabilitation Center during her rehab. She Was a beloved Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was cherished by her entire family and friends. She was the matriarch.

Joyce was a strong believer in the Lord, a great woman of Faith and Values. She belonged to different prayer lines and she was a great supporter of the St. Luke children's foundation.

She graduated from Paraiso High School located in the Panama Canal Zone (class of 1961). She was hard working and played a significant role in her children’s life, she is an example of resilience, she strived and strived until she became the person she was today. She was loved and spoiled by her Husband and ALL her brothers.

Her personality was Nurturing, loving, supportive, she was very charismatic and a soft-spoken person but with great energy and a sense of order. Always knew what she wanted and would always direct us in the right direction. Each one of us could come to her and count on her for some advice.

Joyce loved gardening and cooking. bowling, she also loved to travel and last but not least, she loved the casino.

She is survived by her husband, Hamilton Lavalas and six children, Sheron Morrell de Hope, Sojaila Morrell, Paul P Morrell Dixon, Michelle Lavalas, Allison Lavalas & Dawn Lavalas. She also leaves 9 Grandchildren, Ramon Hope, Janio V Hernandez (deceased), Rolando Piggot, Rodolfo Du-bois, Paul P. Morrell Ramos, Paul P. Morrell Du-bois, Yanisely Morrell, Yaniskeyra Morrell & Javier Lavalas, 8 Great-Grandchildren, Jose Daniel Hope, Jennifer Hernandez, Jennia Hernandez, Josue Piggot, Melody Du-bois, Kaliel Du-bois, Mariane Morrell, Chris Paul Morrell and 1 Great Great Grandchild on the way.
