In Loving Memory of Julia Torres Lopez January 9, 1940 – August 11, 2026 Julia Torres Lopez was born on January 9, 1940, in Puerto Rico, to Gabriel Torres and Rogelia Lopez. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Eli Enrique Lopez. Julia was a beloved wife, sister, mother, mother in law,grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was the proud mother of three children: Evelin Nieves, Nestor Arce, and Clemente Rivera. and mother in law of Manuel Nieves and Susan Rivera.Her family continued to grow and became one of her greatest blessings. She was the feisty and fiercely loving grandmother of nine grandchildren: Leslie, Daisy, Clemente, Carmen, Dayna, Joshua, Gabriel, Jenisa and Alex, and the proud great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren. To know Julia was to know a woman you could never forget. She was sassy, charismatic, strong-willed, and full of life. She loved to dance and could easily become the life of any gathering. She had a way of bringing energy into a room simply by being herself. Julia loved deeply and generously. If she loved you, she loved you with everything she had—there were no limits and certainly no boundaries. She was always willing to help someone in need and became lovingly known as “Santa Claus” because of her incredible generosity. Giving brought her joy, especially when it came to the people she loved. She was also famous for saying exactly what was on her mind—or sometimes not having to say anything at all, because her face had already said it for her. That honesty, sass, and unforgettable personality were simply Julia. She was authentically herself, and that was one of the many things her family loved most about her. Behind that feisty spirit was an incredibly loving heart. Julia leaves behind generations of family who will carry her love, her strength, her generosity, her laughter, and undoubtedly a little bit of her sass with them forever. Her absence will be deeply felt, but the love she gave so freely will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and everyone blessed enough to have known and loved her.
