Lawrence Michael Ferguson passed away on January 26, 2023 at home with his loving family at the age of 85.

He was the youngest of three children to parents Horace and Anna Ferguson.  He is survived by Theo, his loving wife of 60 years, and daughters, Patti (Brian), Marianne (Tony), Linda and Tara.  He was the proud grandfather of Nick (Emily), Sean, Jacqueline (Josh), Anthony, Abigail, Julianna and Joseph and beloved great grandfather to Nicholas, Ellie, Cate and Nicholas.  He is predeceased by his brother Jerry and sister Eleanor and is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike (Hank), Lenny (Priscilla), Steve (Meg) and niece Irene (Fred) and nephew Ken (Karen).

His passion for cars led him to a job with Ford Motor Company which he really enjoyed.  Larry proudly served in the U.S. Navy and Navy reserves.  He worked in the Mutual Department of the New York Racing Association for many years and enjoyed summers at the Saratoga Race Track and vacationing with his family in Lake George as well.  Larry was a true gentleman in every sense and was a friend to all that had the pleasure of knowing him.  He was famous for his one-liners which his grandchildren always loved and a very entertaining storyteller.

“Pop” was always on hand to cheer for his grandchildren in all their sports, achievements, concerts, recitals, school plays, etc. Larry enjoyed playing golf and bocce with his friends and cheering on his football and baseball teams. He loved planning trips using actual maps. He will be missed immensely by all who knew him.

Larry was a wonderful husband and father, with the patience of a saint. He raised four daughters, without ever raising his voice.  He was devoted to his faith, family and friends.  Forever is not enough time to have loved him.

Lawrence will be viewed at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel in Spring Hill on Sunday, followed by a funeral mass and burial in New York,

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Suncoast Hospice.
