Lorraine Catherine Busca, a resident of Spring Hill, Florida for 29 years, and formerly of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away on January 22, 2018. She was born in New Britain, Connecticut and was the daughter of John and Gertrude (Wood) Carlson. She retired from Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut, an American aerospace manufacturer and subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Donald Busca of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Dean Busca of Spring Hill, Florida. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Angelo J. Busca, her son, Robert Busca and daughter, Katherine Busca.
For several years, Lorraine contributed to many community nonprofit projects and fund raising functions as the President of the Knights of Columbus Council 6383 Ladies Auxiliary, in Spring Hill, Florida. She was a member of Saint Frances Cabrini Church.
Lorraine was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed sharing her talent with family, friends, and functions at the Knights of Columbus. She loved to read, knit, and finish the crossword puzzles and word scrambles in the newspaper each day. She also loved her dog, Nicholas, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
A private service and burial will be held at National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, a book donation to a local library/school near you, or a contribution to a charity or organization of your choosing in Lorraine’s name would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, Spring Hill, Florida.
