Mary Elizabeth Kenny

January 13, 1955 — March 23, 2023

Spring Hill

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Kenny of Spring Hill, FL, at the age of 68. She went home to the Lord on March 23rd after a long battle with cancer.

Mary was born on January 13th, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY, the youngest of six children. She moved to Tucson, AZ in her early 20’s where she made life long friends and met the love of her life, Greg. They tied the knot in September 1984 and later moved to Philadelphia where they raised their two daughters.

In 2017 they retired to Florida where Mary got to enjoy her favorite of all Gods blessings, being a Nana to her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she was their absolute favorite person.

Mary truly loved life and loved people. Her favorite past time was spent tending her garden and loving all animals, of which her turtles she loved the most. Joy radiated through her to everyone she met. She was quick to want to “adopt” anyone into her family. She was a nurturer of all Gods blessings and truly a joy of her Fathers creation. Her light will be sorely missed, but it will forever live in those she left behind.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Thomas F Kenny and Florence Kenny, and brother Richard Kenny. She is survived by her loving husband Gregory Gallagher, daughters Kelly Ann Gallagher and Brenna Sullivan (Mark Sullivan), and her grandchildren Declan, Kilian, Abigail, and Malachi. She is also survived by her Brother Thomas Kenny (Jeanne Kenny) Sister Loretta Griffin ( Patrick Griffin) , sister Jo Kenny, brother Kevin Kenny (Claire Kenny) and sisters in law Carol Hall Kenny and Laura Gallagher along with 11 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Hope Community Bible Church, Spring Hill, April 22nd at 11am.
