Michael Joseph Burke, 80, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025.
Born on January 4, 1945, in Carramore, Taugheen, Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland, Michael was the beloved son of Anthony and Kathleen Burke. At just nineteen, he bravely made the journey to Cleveland, Ohio, where he would meet the love of his life, Christina Mary Burke. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 58 joyful years of marriage until Christina’s passing in 2023.
Hardworking and enterprising, Mike owned and operated several businesses throughout his life. His ventures reflected his many interests, especially his love of horticulture and design. His work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit were defining parts of his life.
Michael’s legacy lives on through his six children: Kevin (Fiona), Fiona, Deirdre, Brian (Regina), Niall, and Pat (Peyton). He was the proud grandfather of fourteen grandchildren—Ryan, Connor, Katie, Devin, Megan, Graceson, Sadler, Nieve, Caitlin, Brendan, John, Lily, Harper, and Evan—and his cherished great-grandson, Liam.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Martha Malony (Andy), Josie Tunna (Sid), and Dennis Burke. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Phil Fox (Charlie), Patricia O’Gorman (John), Helen Sullivan (Joe), Colette McNamara (Noel), and Sean Burke (Mona), as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends across the globe.
He had a gift for bringing people together—whether it was around a table, a story, or a shared memory. His adventurous spirit took him around the world, but his heart was always rooted in his Irish heritage.
