Patricia M. Marotte 1929 - 2020 Patricia M. (Moriarty) Marotte passed away due to natural causes on September 13, 2020. She recently celebrated her 91st birthday. She was the wife of Kenneth R. Marotte Sr., who predeceased her in 2011, and the daughter of the late Thomas C. Moriarty and Susan E. (Crean) Moriarty. She moved to Spring Hill, FL in 2017, previously residing in West Springfield, Westfield and Holyoke, MA. Pat graduated from Cathedral High School in 1947. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for MassMutual, the Big “E”/Eastern States Exposition, and College of Our Lady of the Elms. After raising her family, she returned to college and eventually graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Western Mass Hospital. She worked as a nurse at various medical facilities after graduation. True to her heritage, she was a dedicated fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and never missed a game when they were televised. She also enjoyed traveling much of her life with her husband favoring their trips to Europe and Ireland. She was one of ten siblings, all of whom predeceased her: brothers Thomas Moriarty, John Moriarty, James Moriarty and sisters Mary O’Neil, Catherine O’Neil, Margaret Youmell, Ellen Brennan, Susan Provost and Loretta Sullivan. Pat leaves three children: Kenneth R. Marotte, Jr of Inverness, FL, Stephen A. Marotte of Palmer, MA and Colleen M Boyd of Chicopee, MA. She leaves eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Due to the ongoing pandemic, a private burial will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to Sisters of St. Joseph of Springfield 577 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104.
