Summers, Phyllis J., 86, Spring Hill, passed January 9, 2017. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on November 11, 1930 to the late George & Ruth (nee Hutchinson) Shamblin. She met and married her late husband Paul Summers in West Virginia. They moved to Florida in the summer of 1974. Mrs. Summers enjoyed walking, reading, swimming, crosswords, puzzles, and playing scrabble. She loved making her special peanut butter candy and delicious homemade biscuits for her grandchildren. She is survived by her son: Richard (Jean); Daughters: Sandra (Richard) Doty, Carolyn (Joe) Forte, Deborah Summers, and Patricia (Tim) Etzel; 10 grandkids: Tori Gaskins, Krista Schmalfeldt, Aaron Schmalfeldt, Melissa Redman, Ben Simon, Ryan Simon, John Etzel, Tiffany Forte, Erica Violet, and Brent Forte; and 8 great-grandkids: Kelli, Alisha and Matthew Redman, Isaiah, Akira, Ethan and Lily Simon, and Brayden Forte; her sister Shirley Peal and her brother David Haynes. She was also preceded by her brother George Shamblin. In Lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made in her memory to Northcliff Baptist Church Mission's efforts.
