ROBERT G. KNOWLES

ROBERT G. KNOWLES born April 14, 1925, passed away on October 2, 2017 at home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Russell and Sylvia Knowles. He served in the Pacific Theater with the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Gerda Sattler Knowles, and his second wife of 37 years, Luella Peterson Horn Knowles. He is survived by his son, Robert S. Knowles (Kathryn), and daughter, Janet S. Rose (Raymond), four grandchildren, Robert (Zaneta), Daniel (Mandi), Erica Byrne (Thomas) and Anthony Raymond Rose; six great grandchildren, Isabell, Tristan, Brayden, and Brynlie Knowles, and Thomas and Audrey Bryne. He is also survived by five stepchildren, including Cheryl Horn Belfer, who helped care for him and multiple step-grandchildren. He was a volunteer with Lighthouse for 20 years and Bayfront Health Spring Hill for 25 years. The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse for the Blind, 6492 California Street, Brooksville, FL 34613. A memorial service will be conducted at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel, 3369 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill on Saturday, October 7, at 11:00AM.
