Ainey, Ronald K., 82, of Spring Hill passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. A native of New Albany, Pennsylvania, Mr. Ainey retired as a Senior Engineer for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Horsehead, NY before moving to this area. A veteran of the US Army (1953-1956), he was Episcopal by faith and previously served as Church Treasurer, Senior Warden and on the church vestry in the past. Most recently, he had been a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Spring Hill. He was also was a strong supporter of the American Red Cross. Along with his devotion to his church, he enjoyed time with his family and close friends. He also enjoyed playing golf, solving crossword puzzles, and bridge. Mr. Ainey is survived by his loving wife, June, his son Ronald (Sara) of Alexandria, VA; his daughters: Anne (Christopher) Gilbert of Corpus Christi, TX and Linda (Daniel)Janssen of Chapel Hill, NC; his brother Marvin (Carole) of Newark Valley, NY; 6 grandchildren: Sean (Erica), Brianna (Alex), Julian, Alison, Jenna and Philip; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Maya and Jon-Andrew; and June's sister-in-law Rebecca Rose. He was also expecting the arrival of a third great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents: James G. and Viola (nee Varguson) Ainey; and his brother James. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the members and clergy of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, friends and neighbors, HPH Hospice, and Senior Helpers. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorials be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Spring Hill, Florida or the American Red Cross. A Requiem Eucharist service will be held 11 a.m. on August 17th at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2301 Deltona Blvd, Spring Hill, FL 34606.
