Ruth Louise Rogers

Ruth L. (Sheris) Rogers, 89, formerly of Brooksville, Florida, died Sept. 11, 2014 in her home in Spring Hill. Born in St. Clair PA, Oct. 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Agatha (Kralick) Sheris. She is a graduate of St. Clair High School. She worked for Barricini Chocolates, New York City, for most of her career, beginning as a window dresser and moving up to executive secretary. Her interests included golf, playing cards and some invented games with her friends, as well as going out with them to dinner, to the local theater and Broadway shows presented in Tampa, and on river and gulf cruises. She attended Mass at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church regularly and participated in church events there. Throughout her life, she enjoyed talking and corresponding with her cousin and best friend, the late Anna (Klizas) Wargo of St. Clair, PA. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Fred Rogers, and all of her brothers and sisters. They are: Peter Sheris, St. Clair, PA; Cathrine Sheris, St. Clair, PA; Anthony W. Sheris, New Ringgold, PA; Anne Winters, St. Clair, PA; Bergetta Missonis, St. Clair, PA; Margaret Demetrops, Brooksville, Florida; Helen Chaplick, St. Clair, PA; Bernard J. (Barney) Sheris, St. Clair, PA, and Alberta Ault, Gretna, LA. Surviving are a step-daughter, Adriane Tietjen of Amityville, NY, and her children, Stephen Frederick and Joseph Frederick, and nephews and nieces: Boyd Ault, New Orleans, LA; Nancy Benoit, Kentwood, LA; Joseph Sheris, Schuylkill Haven, PA; Janice M. Chaplick, Harrisburg, PA; Fred Sheris of Kennesaw, GA, and Budd Sheris, Chantilly, VA, as well as great step-grandchildren and numerous great-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, Spring Hill, with burial in Grace Memorial Gardens, Spring Hill.
