Thomas Francis McNichol

Thomas Francis McNichol, known lovingly as Tim, was born on September 23, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to James P. McNichol and Mary Elizabeth McNichol (née McClatchy). The fourth of eight children, Tim grew up in a bustling, close‑knit household that shaped his lifelong devotion to family.

A proud Navy man, Tim served aboard the USS DeHaven from 1964 to 1966 during the Vietnam War. His service remained one of the defining honors of his life, and he carried that sense of duty, steadiness, and camaraderie into everything he did.

Tim passed away on July 17, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tim was married to Maddie Carr for many years, and together they welcomed three daughters who became the center of his world: Mandy Webb (Ed), Kim Boutillier (Micah), and Kris Himm (Blake). He was also the deeply loved grandfather of five grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.

In time, Tim met and married his beloved Katherine “Kathy” McNichol. Their mutual love of each other, their families, life, and golf created years of adventure, laughter, and companionship. With Kathy, Tim found a partnership filled with warmth, humor, and a shared appreciation for the simple pleasures of everyday living.

Tim is survived by his wife, daughters and grandchildren; his sisters Rody Walsh (Ed, deceased), Martha Williams, and Mary O’Connor (Jim, deceased); and his brother Mike McNichol (Maureen).

He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Robert, David, and James.

Tim is also remembered lovingly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his in‑laws — whom he affectionately referred to as “the outlaws,” a reflection of his humor and the easy warmth he brought to every relationship.

Tim will be remembered for his gentle steadiness, his loyalty, and the way he made others feel grounded simply by being present. His legacy lives on in his beloved wife Kathy, his daughters, grandchildren, siblings, and the many people whose lives were brightened by his kindness.
