WILLIAM K. CASEY

October 27, 1931 — November 17, 2016

Casey, William K., 85, Brooksville, passed on November 17, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family at the HPH Hospice Sturgill Care Center in Brooksville, Florida. Mr. Casey was born on October 27, 1931 in Bandana, Kentucky to his parents, John and Cozzette (nee Duncan) Casey. After school, Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his completion of active service, he worked for and retired from Ford where he worked as a cost analyst. Following his retirement, Mr. Casey relocated to Florida where he became involved in St Andrew's Episcopal Church as a member and a Lay Eucharistic Minister. There he had the privilege of visiting the sick. He was also involved in the Marine Corps League Detachment #708 where, amongst other things, he served as Chaplain and worked over 1000 funerals with the honor guard. Bill also enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, and crossword and sudoku puzzles. Mr. Casey is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane (nee Hulbert), children: Christopher C., Stephen (Elayne) C., Ellen Marie (James) Thompson, Kathleen (Philip) Borozny, Brian (Ruth) Tracy, and David Tracy; 5 grandchildren: Natalee and Sarah Borozny and Brandon, Adam, and Ashley Tracy; and siblings: Suzanne Fogarty, Timothy Welcer, and Larry Adams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Casey (1986) and sister, Peggy Adams Palmer (1992). A funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow the service. Graveside service with military honors provided by Marine Corps League Detachment #708 will take place at Florida National Cemetery at 2 PM on the same day. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church or to the Marine Corps League Detachment #708 Scholarship Fund.
